๐Ÿ“š Our School Library

We believe that reading opens doorsโ€”to imagination, knowledge, and lifelong learning. Our school library is a vibrant, welcoming space where children can explore stories, discover new interests, and build a love of reading.

๐Ÿ“– Whatโ€™s in Our Library?

Our library contains over 3,000 books, carefully chosen to support learning and inspire curiosity:

  • Reference Section: Non-fiction books linked to curriculum topicsโ€”from Romanichal Gypsies to How to Paint Like Picasso and Tell Me Why Rain is Wet. These support classroom learning and encourage deeper exploration.
  • Fiction Section: Over 1,500 titles ranging from picture books and early readers to chapter books and novels for confident readers. Thereโ€™s something for everyoneโ€”even reluctant readers can find a story that sparks their imagination.

๐Ÿ•’ Weekly Library Time

Each class has a dedicated library slot every week. During this time, children can:

  • Browse and borrow books to take home
  • Sit and share stories with friends
  • Recommend favourite reads to others

We encourage children to borrow books regularly and enjoy reading at home with their families.

๐Ÿงผ Taking Care of Our Books

Books are shared treasuresโ€”and we want every child to enjoy them in great condition. Please help us by:

  • Keeping books clean, dry, and safe from pets or food
  • Returning books on time so others can enjoy them too
  • Reporting any damage so we can repair or replace items
  • Using a book bag or folder to protect books in transit

Together, we can keep our library well-stocked and ready for every reader.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Family Involvement

Reading is a shared journey. We welcome parents and carers to:

  • Ask about what your child is reading
  • Visit the library during open events
  • Donate good-quality books your child has outgrown
