๐ Our School Library
We believe that reading opens doorsโto imagination, knowledge, and lifelong learning. Our school library is a vibrant, welcoming space where children can explore stories, discover new interests, and build a love of reading.
๐ Whatโs in Our Library?
Our library contains over 3,000 books, carefully chosen to support learning and inspire curiosity:
- Reference Section: Non-fiction books linked to curriculum topicsโfrom Romanichal Gypsies to How to Paint Like Picasso and Tell Me Why Rain is Wet. These support classroom learning and encourage deeper exploration.
- Fiction Section: Over 1,500 titles ranging from picture books and early readers to chapter books and novels for confident readers. Thereโs something for everyoneโeven reluctant readers can find a story that sparks their imagination.
๐ Weekly Library Time
Each class has a dedicated library slot every week. During this time, children can:
- Browse and borrow books to take home
- Sit and share stories with friends
- Recommend favourite reads to others
We encourage children to borrow books regularly and enjoy reading at home with their families.
๐งผ Taking Care of Our Books
Books are shared treasuresโand we want every child to enjoy them in great condition. Please help us by:
- Keeping books clean, dry, and safe from pets or food
- Returning books on time so others can enjoy them too
- Reporting any damage so we can repair or replace items
- Using a book bag or folder to protect books in transit
Together, we can keep our library well-stocked and ready for every reader.
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Family Involvement
Reading is a shared journey. We welcome parents and carers to:
- Ask about what your child is reading
- Visit the library during open events
- Donate good-quality books your child has outgrown
