⛪ Our Church and Christian Community
Lowerhouses CE Primary is proud to be a Church of England school, rooted in Christian values and committed to nurturing the spiritual, moral, and emotional development of every child.
We welcome children from all faiths and backgrounds, and we aim to provide every child with the opportunity to explore their own spirituality while learning about the beliefs and traditions of others. Our ethos of care, respect, and community is underpinned by the Christian values we explore throughout the year:
- Love
- Justice
- Service and Charity
- Perseverance and Faith
- Forgiveness and Mercy
- Truth and Wisdom
- Peace
These values are brought to life through worship, classroom learning, and everyday interactions across school.
🙏 Collective Worship
Worship is a central part of school life. We gather together regularly to reflect, celebrate, and grow in faith. Our worship:
- Follows the Christian calendar and explores key themes from The Lord’s Prayer
- Includes Bible stories, songs, prayers, and moments of quiet reflection
- Encourages children to ask big questions and think deeply about the world around them
- Is inclusive and welcoming to all members of our school family
🤝 Our Link with the Parish
We are proud to be part of the Almondbury with Farnley Tyas Parish, and we enjoy a close relationship with our local church community.
👋 Meet Reverend Rob Savage
We are delighted to welcome Reverend Rob Savage as our new parish priest. Rob joined the parish in 2025 after serving as a curate in West Yorkshire. Before his ordination, he spent nearly 20 years as a secondary school music teacher and served as a governor in two primary schools—bringing a deep understanding of education and a passion for working with children.
Rob regularly visits school to lead worship, support RE lessons, and join in with special events. His warm, approachable style and musical background make him a much-loved presence in our school community.
✝️ Christian Values in Action
Our Christian ethos is not just something we talk about—it’s something we live. You’ll see it in:
- The way children support and care for one another
- Our commitment to inclusion, kindness, and fairness
- The way we celebrate diversity and encourage service to others
- Our vibrant displays and reflective spaces throughout school
- The values we explore together—love, justice, service, perseverance, forgiveness, truth, and peace
📖 Religious Education
RE is a vital part of our curriculum. Children learn about Christianity and other world faiths through stories, discussion, art, drama, and visits. We aim to develop respectful, thoughtful learners who are curious about the beliefs and values that shape our world.
